NTPC Korba‘s Bal Bhawan celebrated its Annual Day Celebration with grandeur on 28 April 2024. Chief Guest of the occasion, Shri Sarit Maheshwari, BUH Korba & Smt. Rakhi Maheshwari, President of Maitri Mahila Samiti inaugurated the program by lighting lamps in the august presence of dignitaries.
Smt. Mita Bhattacharjee, In-Charge of the Bal Bhawan, addressed the gathering and warmly welcomed the dignitaries to the 33rd Annual Day Celebration of Bal Bhawan, NTPC Korba.
Smt. Sarita Singh, General Secretary, Bal Bhawan presented the annual report.
The annual day was a riot of colourful costumes, drama, melodic music, and vibrant dances by the children of Bal Bhawan.
‘Dharohar,’ witnessed several dance performances like Ganesh Vandana, Cartoon dance and Kathak. The program saw some enthralling in-house cultural performances with huge participation by the children which made the evening very special and engrossing.
Ram Katha was the main attraction of the program as the young artists portrayed different characters and presented lord Rama’s story from birth to return to Ayodhya after Ravana was killed. The entire performance of the Ram Katha allegorically discussed the duties, rights, and social responsibilities of an individual. It illustrated dharma and dharmic living through model characters.
Dharohar emphasised a wonderfully rich and highly engaging performance. Not only were the spectators entertained but we were also educated on the symbolic representation of the Ram Katha conveyed through Indian dance.
Smt. Rakhi Maheshwari, President of Maitri Mahila Samiti conveyed her gratitude and thanks to the members for their contributions in organising the grand event.
Shri Sarit Maheshwari, BUH Korba in the felicitation address congratulated the Bal Bhawan Wing for their outstanding performance on the annual day and wished them the best for the coming days.
On this occasion, Shri Arnab Maitra, GM (O&M), Shri S.P. Singh, GM (FM), Shri Somnath Bhattacharjee, GM (Maint.), Shri M.V. Sathe, GM (ADM) and Shri Shashi Shekhar, AGM (HR) were present.
All the seniors and members of the ladies’ club, families and employees of NTPC Korba were also present during the function.
The programme ended with prize distribution. The annual day celebration of the Bal Bhawan Wing was a grand success and was much appreciated by the guests and well-wishers.
