BILASPUR/ Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal Shri M Nagaraju (IAS), on a visit to SECL, held a review meeting of SECL at Gevra House in which Coal India Chairman Shri PM Prasad along with CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra was also present.
Many important topics related to coal mining and dispatch were discussed in the meeting. Additional Secretary Shri Nagaraju emphasized on eco-friendly dispatch through FMC, mine expansion, land acquisition and rehabilitation and resettlement, use of eco-friendly surface miner, continuous miner for mining coal, coal crushing etc.
During the meeting, the teams of Gevra, Dipka and Kusmunda megaprojects outlined their plans for achieving the targets set for the FY24-25 through presentation.
On arrival, Additional Secretary Shri M Nagaraju was given a guard of honor by the security contingent. In view of the summer season, the Additional Secretary also distributed welfare kits to the local vegetable vendors and also planted saplings.
Earlier, on the arrival, Coal India Chairman Shri PM Prasad was warmly welcomed by CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra.
SECL Functional Directors, Heads of Departments, Area General Managers were present in the review meeting.

During their SECL visit this afternoon, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Government of India, Shri M Nagaraju and Coal India Chairman Shri PM Prasad interacted with the young executives of SECL at Gevra Recreational Club. During this, CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra and SECL Directors were also present.
In his opening address, Additional Secretary Shri Nagaraju said that coal still remains a reliable source of energy in our country and in the times to come, all of you will have an important role in nation building. Coal India Chairman Shri Prasad said that employee skilling and welfare has always been one of our biggest priorities.
On this occasion, young executives from different cadres raised their questions and resolved their queries.
Earlier, on the second day of his SECL visit, Additional Secretary, Coal Ministry, Shri M. Nagaraju (IAS) visited the Gevra Mega Project in the early hours. He visited the departmental patch and silo in the mine and reviewed the mining and dispatch activities. He also visited the eco-friendly ripper patch and learnt about blasting-free OBR.
