BILSPUR /With the aim of capacity building in the area of Human Resource Management in SECL, a 6-day management development program on Labour Laws was inaugurated today on the auspicious occasion of International HR Day 20th May 2024 at the Management Development Institute (MDI) located at SECL Indira Vihar, Bilaspur. This workshop is being conducted by Dr. Pramod Kumar Padhi, a renowned professor and labour laws expert from Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur. The program was inaugurated by CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra in the presence of Director (Personnel) Shri Biranchi Das, XLRI Faculty Dr. Pramod Kumar Padhi and other officials.
In his address, CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra said that it is very important for a good manager to have technical competence, managerial competence, and legal prudence. Discussing various initiatives like Mission Nachiketa, Abhimanyu e-Magazine etc. launched intending to upskill SECL employees, he said that through these initiatives, at SECL we are fostering innovation and knowledge updation.
Director (Personnel) Shri Biranchi Das said that it is very important for HR officers to have the right knowledge of the laws and provisions related to labour and industrial relations and to know which rules should be applied in which situations. I believe that this workshop will enhance your knowledge of labour laws and prepare you for future challenges.
This first-of-its-kind management development program at SECL is being conducted by Dr. Pramod Kumar Padhi, renowned professor and labour law expert from Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur. Dr. Padhi has more than 22 years of experience in teaching the subject of Human Resources and Labour Law and is among the well-known experts on the subject. Dr. Padhi has written 8 books and more than 25 of his articles have been published in various national and international research journals.
Thirty officers of HR cadre from SECL Headquarters and different operational areas of SECL are participating in this workshop. Certificates will be given to all the participants upon successful completion of the training program.
